Academic Results

Student progress is evaluated using established examination and assessment procedures common in the UK and top British Schools worldwide, allowing us to clearly benchmark our school standards.

Since our inception, students in all of our BSF schools have performed well, with the vast majority of pupils performing at or above the expected requirements of the English National Curriculum.

In Primary School, all pupils from Year 2 upwards complete standardised assessments at the end of each academic year ensuring that progress is carefully monitored. Results are used to review individual progress compared with other children in the same age range. These standardised assessments aim to measure the performance of all pupils following the English National Curriculum and identify the level of attainment in English and Mathematics.

In Secondary School, pupils initially work towards the IGCSE and A Level examinations in preparation for entry into university. Students in Years 10 and 11 take IGCSEs, a two-year programme that is academically rigorous and recognised to be amongst the best in the world for this age group. Many of the subjects have specific international elements and content, developed by specialists to make the subject matter relevant to students worldwide.

In Sixth Form, students work towards obtaining AS and A Level qualifications. A Level is one of the world’s most widespread and highly regarded university entrance qualifications. It is recognised across the world, including all universities in the UK and USA.

Our students tend to perform excellently across many different disciplines, achieving top results in public examinations. BSF schools are amongst the best of British international schools around the world, with educational results that are comparable to many of the best private schools in the UK. We set a standard for high achievement from the very beginning and expect high performance from our very first cohorts.

The IGCSE and A level results for 2017/2018 were outstanding. 77% of all IGCSE entries graded A*-A, more that triple the UK average of 21%. 52% of all A-Level entries graded A*-A, double the UK average of 26%.
