Brasilia
The British School of Brasilia (BSB), staff and students organise ‘BSB Gives Back’ events whereby they collect various items for a variety of charities and organisations in need. In 2016/17, these included a toy drive for a local orphanage, Lar Jesus Meninos, and a sports clothing and equipment drive for a local school in an impoverished area. Children from the school were then invited to visit BSB and our students donated their time to teach them new games.
The Student Council also works alongside the Parent Events and Fundraising Group to raise money during the Christmas Fayre and Festa Junina (pictured). Last year, BSB students organised a very successful bake sale, and combined with money raised at community events, again provided resources for children resident at the Lar Jesus Meninos Orphanage. They supported and helped organise a Christmas party for the children and even arranged a special visit from Santa.
This coming year, BSB will be introducing ways in which their Eco Club can support environmental campaigns. More information on this will be available soon.
