The Secondary team finished first in every event – comprising of athletics, football, basketball and swimming – and were crowned overall champions. In particular, the girls’ basketball team shone and did not concede a single point throughout all their matches

Meanwhile, Primary students travelled to Greece to compete with 16 schools took part in swimming, athletics and football events. Students were even able to compete in the former Olympic stadium as they showcased their skills and dedication.

The team finished 5th overall, with a second place spot for the Girls’ football team. They finished 90 points above the 6th place team, and just 20 points below teams in joint 3rd place.

“Prague and Athens will live long in the memory,” said Head of PE Adam Hoult. “ISM had an amazing set of young athletes, who have given everything in the pursuit of achieving their personal bests! There is more to come from them, we are sure of that.”

“It has been a privilege and an honour to work with these students and it makes us incredibly proud to know that the LIONS all did themselves proud.

“The key to their improvements, are lessons we can all learn from: to do the boring things well, to strive to get better all of the time, to support and encourage everybody, and to be proud of your work! Most importantly, a positive attitude changes everything.”

“We wish these young athletes the very best in their sporting endeavours and in their lives.  Those students who are staying must now set themselves some targets and start the next journey: the road to London 2016 starts now!”
